I’ve made it a habit to ask for recommendations during the course of my career, and it’s always a humbling experience when I get a letter far more gracious and flattering than I anticipated it to be.  I have dozens of them now, and I’ve included some excerpts below.

An intrinsic aspect of being the recipient of these accolades is to use them in a proper manner, so I haven’t included the actual names of the individuals involved.  I’ll gladly share the full text with people making serious inquiries.  Until then, please enjoy these.

“By the end of the first paragraph, I knew I had to find a way to work with him. For an hour he held a captive audience of industry professionals in complete adulation for the story that [he] was unfolding.”

Television Production Executive

“Dr. Rashkind was both a brilliant physician and a warm human being. Brian was able to capture his essence through his interviewing and writing skills. I will always be grateful to him for sharing with the world this man’s special characteristics and genius.”

Nationally-Renown Cardiologist

“Brian was an exceptional student at Temple. I was consistently impressed with the intuitive way in which he approached his studies. He learned the factual material with little problem, but it was the apparent need to go beyond the facts and truly understand the root processes, causes, or effects which distinguished his learning style.”

College Professor

“On a personal level, Brian is a reliable and trustworthy individual. When he tells you that he is going to do something, you can count on it. His code of conduct is one that is entirely compatible with the medical profession and this hospital.”

Physician-In-Chief, Major Medical Center

I once again thank all my friends who have written such poignant passages about our time together.  Oddly enough, these words do not entice me to rest or grow complacent.  They inspire me to become more, because the authors are all far better recognized and respected than I.  No, these words are inspiration to exceed past milestones and to create performance expectations never before seen anywhere in the world - just as they have.

They have effectively raised me to their level of performance, and issued a challenge to improve upon that.  What better definition of a friend can there be?
