Chocolate, Charity and Congeniality in Small Town America

The heart of America is found in events that bring people together to help others, and the Lititz Chocolate Walk is a unique opportunity to experience the fusion of small town hospitality with the generosity of apparent strangers.
Since 2001, Lititz has hosted a charity walk that has attracted more than 7,000 chocolate fans to a town largely dominated by its independent chocolate maker, Wilbur Chocolate. The Lititz Kiwanis club sponsors the event that leads people through the streets of this quaint little town in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country to meet local merchants while casually munching on locally produced chocolate treats. Proceeds this year will benefit the Schreiber Pediatric Center and the Lititz Public Library in addition to other youth charities.
Lititz has been a favorite town for me to visit for many years. It has been a long-standing tradition to visit the town on the first day of winter, December 21, to find truly unusual and handcrafted presents for the holidays.
This year I’ll make an exception to visit on October 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. I’ll take pictures and share my experiences in the future travel and leisure category of the site.

Your son is doing an enormous service for the world. The combination of spicy jalepeno and sweet chocolate (actually described in this story: http://writertotheworld.com/lititz-my-home-away-from-home/) is indescribable. I only hope the story did him some justice.
I think the sandwiches should be used in hostage negotiations. Send in a few of those, and I guarantee the hostage takers will be on their knees. Then just leave a trail of jalpeno fudge sauce out the front door, and everything is over in a few minutes. Just a thought.

I would have to agree with you about the grilled chocolate delights - but then Chef Tim is my son!!!
